A nation of kindness starts with ONE

No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted - Aesop

Have you received kindness from someone you never met? I have, many times.

Most recent was when I left my camera in a restaurant after lunch and didn't realize until the next day.
Rushed back to the restaurant as soon as I could and guess what?
The lady boss actually kept and returned it to me!
I couldn't thank her enough and will always always remember her kind act.
The pictures in the camera wasn't saved anywhere else yet so it meant a lot to me!

Just a week ago, JY dropped his wallet outside his car, parked outside my gate
and a stranger picked it up, rang my doorbell and passed it back to him.
Couldn't thank him enough!!

Two Saturdays back, Jy and I joined the Singapore Kindness Movement volunteers outside Ion in celebrating Kindness! There were 5 groups altogether and each team was delegated a task!

I joined the balloon sculpting group where daisies were sculpted out of balloons
and then given away to passer-bys.
Some of the other tasks includes paying a compliment and helping shoppers with their shopping bags!

It was a very hot day to be outdoors but I'm pretty sure it was all worth it (:
Pictures!!

Pardon the low quality photos :( I already tried to re-size and sharpened the pictures.
Brought my camera out that day but forgot the battery so those pictures were taken on phones,
grabbed from Facebook and shared by Melissa!

This year, the Singapore Kindness Movement adopts the theme, "A nation starts with ONE"
and we hope our efforts will be paid forward from stranger to stranger.
Singaporeans are kind and we should unlock this belief from within us and actively take a pro-social stance in practicing kindness & graciousness.

A celebratory event will be held on
31st May 2013, Friday
at Clarke Quay (Near The Central)
from 7PM to 8.30PM

Event highlights includes, light up of giant Gerbera Daisy in the Singapore River,
free river cruises to event participants, kindness drinks by Shatec students..

Gather your family and friends on the last Friday of May to support this event
and be a believer of kindness in Singapore!!

First 200 attendees receives a goodie bag! Find out more HERE.
