Kinsa Sushi - Hillview

Read on, because today I have 5x $15 Kinsa Sushi vouchers to be given away

The co-owner of Kinsa Sushi (Shannon) used to be Zoe's colleague at Abacus and about a week before CNY, he invited us to his new venture at Hillview for lunch. They also have another outlet at Ang Mo Kio so North-Easties, good news for you!

First up on our lunch line-up was their signature - Wagyu Don ($24.80), prepared using A4 grade Wagyu, complete with an Onsen Tamago on the side.

This dish surely lived up to its name with great flavouring and each slice of beef was perfectly seared, so chewy and tender, I felt like I was in heaven with every mouthful - nope, not exaggerating at all.

 Foie Gras Mizore Mushi ($6.80)

"Mizore" is a Japanese word that translates to snow and when you stir the soup lightly you'll find little White bits swirling around - like falling snow! I personally don't like the taste of Foie Gras so I was skeptical about trying it. After giving away all my Foie Gras, I decided to be a little more adventurous and took a small sip and boy was I sold! The soup was extremely rich in flavour and I enjoyed the mushrooms with it!

While waiting for the other food to be served, Shannon took us on a tour around his restaurant. Check out the magnetic rotating belt (I was told this is the first in Singapore) that gives off coloured lights!

Another highlight of Kinsa Sushi Hillview is this fish tank where seasonal fishes are freshly imported for your pick! You can then choose how you want it to be cooked with no additional costs.

Unfortunately, Salmon is the only raw fish I eat so I can't be a judge of the other food items here but trust me when I say the Salmon is damn good. It was chilled at a perfect temperature and the meat was extremely juicy and smooth - I had like 6 pieces on my own.

Then, we had this Sushi platter that "says" 吉 in Chinese that literally means Lucky! How perfect to kick start the CNY festivities.

& a prosperous "Lou Hei" to end the meal with!
My belly was already bursting by the time this platter came so I was only picking out all the
Jellyfish and crackers to eat hahaha :P

As mentioned earlier in the post, I have 5x $15 vouchers to share!
To win, simply leave a comment below with your email address and comment who you would like to
visit the restaurant with & why!

Eucerin DermoPurifyer

I was given these Eucerin products to try recently and if you haven't heard of this brand before like me, you ought to read on because I've been really enjoying their products so far!

Eucerin is one of the leading dermocosmetic brands in America and Europe that develop products for different needs. I received the DermoPURIFYER skin care line that is invented to fight against acne.

All products under the Eucerin DermoPURIFYER range are compatible with commonly used acne medication and suitable for all needs (minor blemishes, combination skin, oily skin, blemished skin, acne). The efficacy and tolerability of all the products have been scientifically proven in extensive clinical studies in affected patients. Volunteers who have used the products demonstrated a significant improvement in their acne symptoms after just 4 to 12 weeks of consistent usage.

The latest addition to the DermoPURIFYER skin care range is the 3-in-1 Make-up & Acne Remover that works as a cleanser, make-up remover & toner altogether! While it removes make-up and impurities it also promises to tone and moisturize.

This micellar technology formulated liquid cleanser can be used without water. In addition to the micellar water, it contains Alkylpolyglucoside Complex that removes dirt and dust effectively while being gentle on sensitive skin. Gluco-Glycerol and Hyaluronic acid can also be found inside the product to foster the skin’s natural breathing process. Just pour what you need on a cotton pad, wipe around your face with the moistened pad and that's it! You don't even have to rinse off with cleanser and water after, how awesome is that?! Other than the convenience, what I really like about this make-up remover is its ultra light texture and effectively moisturizes, non-drying on the skin at all!

Here is an arm swatch of the make-up I use almost on a daily basis.
(From left) Foundation, waterproof eyeliner, eye shadow & lipstain

My make-up (Including the waterproof eyeliner!!) came off instantly with just a wipe of the DermoPURIFYER Make-up & Acne Remover.

Impressed with their Make-up & Acne Remover, I shall jump on the bandwagon and take on the Eucerin 30-Day Challenge too! I will use the mentioned 4 products in my daily skincare routines and see if there is any difference by the end of it!

I do not have severe acne problems but I tend to get breakouts whenever it is the time of the month (Like now) & always on my chin so you can see there are several blemishes (From last month, and last last month.. You get my drift) on my chin right now. I hope by the end of 30 days, these blemishes will lighten and also control the PMS acne I get every month D:  For accurate results, I will also not use any other acne care products other than Eucerin!

Without further ado, let me elaborate a little further on the 3 other products I have just included in my daily skincare regime.

DermoPURIFYER Cleansing Gel
What I like most about this DermoPURIFYER Cleansing Gel is that it is SOAP FREE! I love soap free cleansers because it is milder on the skin & prevents dryness. At only $23.90, it is no wonder that this cleansing gel won the Women's Weekly Best Beauty Buys of 2015!

DermoPURIFYER Facial Tonic (To be used after cleansing)
I always skip the toner whenever I'm lazy (Which I am, most of the time) but having used this for 3 nights in a row, I am now convinced that a toner is as important as removing make-up. The toner thoroughly cleanses your face, removing any remnants of makeup that clings onto the skin. It also contain antibacterial formula reducing the growth of bacteria (one of the four factors of impure skin) and prevents blemishes.

DermoPURIFYER Active Concentrate
After the toner, I'll slap moisturizer all over my face before applying the DermoPURIFYER Active Concentrate on targeted spots. One of the key ingredients used in this Active Concentrate is lactic acid that has the ability to dissolve thickened epidermal cells caused by acne, as well as comedones. The formula is very watery so it doesn't feel sticky. I've only used this for 3 days so I haven't seen any noticeable results yet. Will do an update about it again when I complete my Eucerin 30 Day Challenge so stay tuned!

Saying hello from the new place! Our place is still in a mess and we haven't moved all our stuff over because we've been extremely busy with Hollyhoque BUT I'll do a house tour when everything is settled! For now, you can find random updates about #Jaexesshome on Instagram :P Its our 3rd night here now and so far so good! No problems with adjusting to the new environment at all. In fact, I have difficulties waking up in the morning - The Simmons mattress we got is so sleep inducing it makes it hard to leave it..

Its Valentine's day tomorrow but J and I have no plans on an extravagant dinner. Instead, we'll be helping out in the store late evening so see you if we see you! :D

Haven't been in the mood to play dress up because I've been mad busy so here is 2 "throwback" outfits!

You have no idea how much I love this Gilded Grace Bustier Romper - Light. Although it is loose for me at the chest area, I insisted on keeping it - I even hitched a belt at the waist to prevent it from slipping off hahaha.

What I wore on a brunch date with J. I have a penchant for White crochet everything so of course I had to reserve this for myself when the shipment arrived! Feeling country chic that day, I loaded up on the brown accessories and spruced up the look with my favourite Red lippie!

NIVEA Extra White & Firm Q10 Deodorant

I'm pretty sure we've all had our fair share of bad experiences with body odor - On a sardine packed train during peak hour or while working out at the gym.

We all want to smell good but shower gel and perfume alone is not good enough simply because we all have armpits and we all sweat. Although sweat itself is odorless, the bacteria that resides on the skin breaks down sweat into acids that causes the unpleasant stench. This is when deodorant comes in handy - It is anti-antiperspirant and that prevents the armpits from excessive sweating!

The one I'm using today is NIVEA's newest product - NIVEA Extra White & Firm Q10 Deodorant.

Just a brief background about NIVEA - NIVEA is a renown German brand that focuses a lot on skincare with more than 100 years of history and has been the number 1 deodorant brand in Singapore for 4 years. They are also the first to launch the invisible range that leaves zero stains on your clothes.

As you can see from my personal stash (Only the in-shower conditioner and deodorant is sponsored, the rest are what I've been using) I am quite a fan girl.

I choose NIVEA not only because of its wallet friendly prices, it does its job well and I love all the scents in their products! The Extra White & Firm Q10 deodorant is no exception - Some days I just wear the deodorant like perfume :P

Besides its awesome scent, the Extra White & Firm Q10 deodorant is the first with Co-enzyme Q10 that helps firm skin. It also contains Licorice extract that has whitening effects. Shaving and plucking causes a dark stain on the underarms and although I don't face this problem (Switched to IPL a couple of years ago) I read many reviews online that mentioned how great NIVEA's whitening deodorant worked for them!

With the NIVEA Extra White & Firm Q10 Deodorant only retailing at $4.90, we can all afford to smell good!

Some pictures from the NIVEA Extra White & Firm Q10 Deodorant luncheon before I log off!

Love the pretty blue & white set-up that signifies the NIVEA brand!

Group shot with the 3 other Nuffnang influencers! (Valerie, Mongchin & Limaran)

As mentioned earlier, Q10 is one of the key ingredients in the NIVEA Extra White & Firm Q10 Deodorant and that day the NIVEA team prepared a little "lucky draw" for all of us. Under these tags there were 2 x $100 Pandora vouchers that lucky Mongchin & Valerie won!

Last but not least, Limaran & I took on the "How high did you go" challenge and...

& I'd like to think we fared pretty well? Getting Brave!

It was a great afternoon of friends, food & fun.
Thanks for having us, NIVEA! x

Maldives - Part Deux

"Babe! Babe! Quick come over!" J called out to me the next morning. Still half asleep I shuffled my way from our bed to the outdoor deck only to meet our first (Inquisitive) visitor. We sat there and watched it prey for a good 5 minutes before it flew off. What a pleasant start to our 2nd morning in Maldives!

It was still early for breakfast so we decided to take a walk around the resort.

Perks of waking up early includes a gorgeous blue sky and private (Literally) beach :P

Although I think the golden hour contributed most to the soft, warm glow, this is the best portrait J took of me yet and I need to give him some credits on the improvement :P

PS: Dress as seen is now available on Hollyhoque here

Mister Missus x

J also went around talking to hermit crabs and insisted I took this picture of him (His hand) and his friend :\

Carefree days

We asked for In-villa breakfast after our short "escapade" at the beach and this came within the next 15-20 minutes - Nicely set up by our butler, Anup.

Never thought hanging by the sun deck and fish watching with your other half can be so therapeutic.

Pool time in a customized Surania swimsuit (Quote "SURANIA15" for $15 off any item on their site) and Hollyhoque vest.

Showered and freshen up for lunch (Inclusive in room rate) at the main restaurant.
Wearing Hollyhoque's Petit Garden Party Romper .

Love the pasty chef(s) at Adaaran Prestige so much. They surprise me every meal!

Snorkel snorkel

Thanks to Liz's waterproof camera we were able bring them underwater memories back!

I almost forgot how to breathe when I saw this sight. Too much wow.

Strange looking fishes with horns on their "foreheads"

After our afternoon snorkel, off for sharks feeding, had dinner and retired early for the next day of adventures. Sorry for the abrupt ending, I got to rush off!
