Bio Essence - Bird's Nest + Peptides Series

I'm sure we've all heard about the beauty benefits Bird's Nest brings and they are undoubtedly, a woman's best friend!

Bird's Nest contains a high concentration of up to 85% water soluble proteins, amino acids & epidermic growth factors that promote cell growth & tissue repair. With high glycoprotein content and anti-oxident properties, Bird's Nest helps to slow down the aging process & restore youthfulness. To add on, minerals such as calcium, sodium, potassium found in Bird's Nest increase the body's resistance against diseases & enhances skin immunity, making it possibly the best nourishing ingredient for skin care.

I will soon enter the pre-aging phase in a couple more years. Sounds depressing but this can actually be prolonged and prevented if we use the right products!

Thanks to Bio-essence (& Nuffnang of course), I got to try out 2 products from their Bird's Nest series which now includes Bio-Whitening Peptides for intense nourishment.

The Bio-Whitening Peptides is made up of a chain of 9 amino acids and naturally exists in our bodies. Because of its micron size, it can penetrate the skin's protective barriers to get to the deeper layers and break down easily.

By applying Bio-Whitening Peptides on our skin, we are signalling it to think that it has enough  melanin and stops further production of pigmentation. It is also known for its whitening function as it prevents skin darkening!

Essence-In-Cream, $36.90 & Plumping Capsule Essence, $39.90

On top of Bird's Nest and Bio-whitening Peptides, these 2 products also contain collagen capsule essence that makes skin appear firm, taut and smooth! As we get older, collagen in our body reduces resulting in decreased suppleness and smoothness in our skin. However, these signs of aging can be slowed down if total body collagen levels can be constantly replenished.

The Plumping Capsule Essence is very light and almost weightless yet it intensely moisturises my skin.

I also love how it gives my skin a slight sheen after application - Sort of like a makeup base except with more benefits for the skin!

Needless to say, this goes to my morning routine, after I cleanse and tone my skin, and right before I apply my BB Cushion/foundation!

The Essence-In-Cream is filled with collagen capsule essence that breaks upon application to release concentrated essence which helps to firm and moisturise skin.

It has a creamy texture and glides on to my skin very easily!

I love moisturisers and if I'm at home the whole day, you'll find me spamming creams on my face and neck every 4-5 hours. My skin is on the dry side so I really love the feeling of having deeply hydrated skin.

Now enjoy these products at a 15% discount at Watsons, Guardian & NTUC!

If you love Korean BBQ,  you've got to try Don Dae Bak!

It is one my favourite Korean restaurants in Singapore and they are open until 2AM on Fridays & Saturday!

Like most Korean restaurants, these side dishes are free!

I was lucky that day they had my favourite mash potatotieeeee

& Chap Chae!!

Here comes the highlight of our meal!

Marinated chicken, fatty pork belly, beef ribs, beef brisket, marinated shoulder loin woohoo!!

Charcoal stove (Only for dinner) for the most authentic Korean BBQ experience.

Incredible grilled egg around the pan is awesome! (& refillable)
Not many Korean restaurants have this, so yay Don Dae Bak!

Soybean Paste Soup, love that they were relatively generous with the zucchini! :P

Snippets Of Santorini - 1

Hiding from the haze in my air-conditioned bedroom now & since I have some free time, I thought I'll stop procrastinating and do an update on our trip to Santorini earlier this year!

After 3 flights from Singapore to London (Via SQ), London to Athens & Athens to Santorini (Via Aegean Air), we finally got to our destination! There are direct flights from Singapore to Athens but our itinerary is planned this way so we can drop by London on our way back.

After what seemed like forever, we finally got to the Thira Airport and collected our rented car from Avis.

After a 30 minute drive, we got to Oia (Pronounced Ee-ya) where we will be staying at for the next couple of nights.

We were initially torn between staying at Fira or Oia but eventually decided on the latter because research told us that Oia is less crowded and more laid back, although it is located further away from the rest of the island.

The jaw dropping view that welcomed us as we looked around to check in.

Aww, that postcard of a view.

Everything is great about Oia, but be prepared to climb a lot of stairs.

We were still early for check-in so we decided to drop by a local restaurant for breakfast!

I didn't get purchase any data plan during my stay at Santorini and depended on free wifi from restaurants most of the time :P Just ask them for the password and they'll share it with you! The greeks are really friendly.

Thinking about the nice weather we had makes me so sad. When will this haze end??

Firsts (Our first breakfast in Santorini) always leaves a deep impression.
I can still remember the taste of my scrambled eggs - They were super smooth and yummy!

It was about time we could check in so we went back to the check-in counter and waited as they sent a porter to pick up the luggages from our car and carried it to our rooms.

My luggages weighed a ton because of my gowns for the photoshoot and coats prepared for London but the porter lifted it and climbed the stairs so effortlessly I was in disbelief lol. Like he was superman or something.

Our cave room was pretty deep in which means we had to climb many stairs but that also meant a lot of privacy so we didn't mind the extra walking.

Tadah! Our room rented from Vip Suites! Not too shabby aye?

It was of a pretty decent size with ample space for us to walk about even with both our luggages opened.

Cutest bathroom ever?

The jacuzzi tub that was didn't get to use because we've been absolutely packed with activities every day.

The view from our balcony gave us a gorgeous view of the sunset, which I'll show you later!

After a brief nap, it was time for us to head out to have lunch & explore!

Steps, steps, steps

Just me and the endless blues.

Lunch spot!

Best vegetable soup I've had, EVER. But why does it look so oily now?

I love how the Greeks use a lot of herbs and spices in their cooking!

Mid-day sweet treat and it was back to our room for another short nap before we met Kelvin from Lightedpixels Photography for dinner!

Quick snap with the sunset before we rushed off for dinner!

Wearing Talking Layers Oversized Coat - Black and Kyer Sleeveless Basic Dress - Olive, both from Hollyhoque

So glad that we could enjoy the sunset from our balcony every day without having to squeeze with the other tourists at the Oia Castle (Best free spot to catch the sunset at Oia)

Dinner was at Anoti (Pronounced as Anogi) located at Imerovigli as recommended by Kelvin and it was hands down the best meal of the trip!!!

Please visit if you have the chance to go to Santorini (:

So this sums up our first day in Santorini and stay tuned to find out what we did the next day!

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Love, Sheila
